Welcome to Suurbraak Secret situated in Suurbraak, just 23km outside Swellendam in the Overberg, Western Cape. This little piece of heaven is nestled between the Buffelsjag and Caledon Stream and within 50 metres to the swimming area. Enveloped by nature, birds, streams and free roaming cattle, this secret hideaway is just what you need to get away from it all! We offer a fully furnished house, a cosy 2 bedroom cottage and a romantic studio for 2.

Our accommodation is situated at the end of the interesting mission town of Suurbraak, a two hundred year old mission station in South Africa. Here time has stood still as the community still farms and ploughs the way that their forefathers did, using a horse drawn cart. Here is where people stop to chat and children play freely. And here is where you can refresh your soul...

Our delightful, cosy split level, tastefully furnished house, caters comfortably for seven (adults & children). The main bedroom, situated downstairs has a double bed and built in cupboards. There is a full bathroom and toilet downstairs.

The upstairs room has a double bed with an en-suite toilet. The open plan sleeping area accommodates a single bed and the two fold out mattresses. This area leads to a huge deck with views of the Langeberg Mountain range.

Downstairs is the kitchen and scullery with ample appliances and utensils and Nespresso Coffee Machine. Outside boasts a braai area with a Dover stove, a boma with a fire pit, a nursery and a huge garden with plenty of trees and an orchard. Off street parking for two cars on the property is available. All linen and bedding supplied.

A complimentary bundle of wood is provided. DSTV (Optional Extra).

Rates:​

• The Main House: R1500 for 4 people per night. Extra guests to a max of 7 - R220 per person per night
• Children under 4 free.
• Children  from  age 4 to 12  years  R150 per child per night.
• Infants (Cot) Usage – Free
• Suurbraak Secret is Pet Friendly. All well-behaved pets welcome by prior arrangement.

The Cottage

The Cottage is a cosy two bedroom unit sleeping 4 guests. Downstairs is an open plan kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and lounge. The  kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, two plate gas hob and a microwave. The lounge, leads onto a  covered stoep with a braai area. The bedroom downstairs has a queen bed with an en suite bathroom. This bedroom has  a double door which opens onto the stoep with views of the mountain. Upstairs is a double bed and a study with stunning views of the Langeberg Mountain.

The front garden is a  lawned area and a vegetable garden. The yard is an indigenous forest. Pet Friendly. All well-behaved pets welcome (by prior arrangement only)

Rates:  R750 per night for 2 people. Additional charge for additional persons (Max 2 R150).

The Studio

Our cosy two sleeper studio is for the romantic and more adventurous. It has an open plan kitchen and lounge with huge barn doors.  The sleeping alcove, which is accessible by an inside ladder, only has a double mattress for two people. It is small, cosy and comfortable. The bathroom contains basin, toilet and a luxurious shower.

The outside stoep and braai area is perfect for sundowners and star gazing. During summer, when the temperatures exceed 30 degrees, the outside shower under the trees provides a refreshing relief.

A complimentary bundle of wood is provided.  Pet Friendly. All well-behaved pets welcome (by prior arrangement only)
